People with a refugee background who would like to study in Switzerland are sometimes still in the asylum procedure or have an uncertain status. We recommend that the structures of the Swiss asylum system, the asylum procedure and the various statuses of refugees be addressed in the form of training. A basic understanding of the asylum system makes it easier for student mentors to accompany refugee students. Individual situations and the associated hurdles and difficulties can be better assessed.
